NEW BRIENZERGRAT TO HARDERGRAT - A PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEY
Brienzergrat. Also called Hardergrat, it is actually three ridges, it starts as Brienzergrat (from Brienzer Rothorn to Ällgäulücke) then becomes Riedergrat as far as Augstmatthorn and ends as Hardergrat (the remainder of the ridge all the way to Interlaken). It is rated one of the most difficult and one of the most beautiful in Switzerland. My new 68 page book features over a hundred beautiful images and a detailed guide to one of the most challenging ridge hikes in Switzerland.
From Hardergrat just above Harder Kulm, to Riedergrat (above Niederried and Oberried am Brienzersee) to Brienzergrat above Brienz, this beautiful ridge is a federally protected area for wildlife. This means camping and drone flying are prohibited here. Friends of the Ridge is a volunteer community group dedicated to helping preserve this beautiful place for the wildlife that live here. Our goal is simple: to increase awareness about the rules that protect this area by providing information online and in print in locations near or leading to the ridge. Please find out more about this Federal Wildlife Refuge at hardergrat.com
